Totnes Liberal Democrats off to the seaside this weekend

17 Mar 2004

Prospective Parliamentary Candidate, Mike Treleaven, will be leading the Totnes delegation to The Liberal Democrat Spring Conference at Southport this weekend. During a packed couple of days the conference will debate many issues including Medically Assisted Dying, Council Tax, Tuition Fees, Censorship and Early Years Education. Commenting on the visit Mike Treleaven said:

'The great thing about Liberal Democrat conferences is that it is the delegates that set party policy. We don't have policies imposed from above. We will be looking at several very important issues this weekend and I shall be looking to contribute to several of the debates, particularly those on Council Tax, Tuition Fees and medically Assisted Dying.'

He continued:

'As well as these discussing these important matters it is a great opportunity to meet old friends and enjoy a couple of days at the seaside - hopefully the weather will be kind to us'
