I was elected for a fourth term as a District Councillor in 2019 and I sit on the council executive holding the portfolio for the environment. I have previously served as a County Councillor and am a long time members of Yealmpton Parish Council. I worked for the Post Office for over 30 years and was Head Post Master for Devon and Cornwall. My first degree was an MA from Dublin University and in 1996 I was awarded a M.Phil by Plymouth University. I am also the former Chairman of the Devon Fire Authority.

I have been active in politics throughout my adult life and have twice been a Liberal Democrat parliamentary candidate.

I am a season ticket holder at Plymouth Argyle and am married to Isabel. I have three children and seven grandchildren.
