The last few days have seen more historic votes taking place in Parliament. Yesterday, MPs voted overwhelmingly against Theresa May's Brexit deal for a second time. Tonight, MPs rejected leaving the EU without a deal. With events from the last few days, an extension of Article 50 now seems inevitable. An extension to Article 50 could allow time for a people's vote to take place.

The Put It To The People march is taking place in London on Saturday 23 March - just six days before the UK is meant to leave the European Union - and taking part could be the last opportunity to demand a Final Say on Brexit. Devon for Europe have arranged coaches from our local area to London in order that we can join the march. A number of South Hams Lib Dems are already booked on the coach from Totnes, including our Parliamentary Candidate, Caroline Voaden. Come and join us!

The organisers of the rally, the People's Vote campaign, say the debate needs to be taken out of parliament and into the streets. Labour MP David Lammy said: "It is in those final days that we have the biggest chance to convince MPs to give this decision back to the public."

The key demand is that any Brexit deal should be put to a public vote for final approval. "Instead of letting Theresa May kick the can down the road until the March 29 deadline, hundreds of thousands of people will march on parliament offering a solution to a crisis that threatens our rights, our living standards and our environment," said former Green Party leader Caroline Lucas.

Spaces are still available on the coaches leaving from Totnes and Kingsbridge on the morning of the 23rd March (Newton Abbott and Drum Bridges are already full). Book your place on the coach at www.devonforeurope.org/london_23_march.html

We will be dropped off close to the start of the march and collected not far from the finish, so we can all stick together and make Devon's presence unmissable. It is essential that the fight to stop Brexit is not seen as a London only issue. Come along, join us and let Devon have a voice!!
