Liberal Democrats retain seat on Totnes Town Council with large majority

Liberal Democrat Candidate, Tony Phillips, today won the vacant Bridgetown seat on Totnes Town Council with a large majority. Tony, has 8 years experience of being a Councilor and lives in the ward. He is looking forward to working hard for the people of Totnes and Bridgetown in particular. Speaking after his victory Tony said:

' I am delighted to have been chosen to join my Liberal Democrat Colleague, Geoff Date, to represent Bridgetown on the Town Council. Liberal Democrats have a reputation for getting things done and working for local people all the year round. There are many important issues to be decided in Totnes and I shall be working hard for my constituents to ensure their voice is heard'

Commenting on Tony's election Totnes Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Spokesperson, Mike Treleaven said:

' Tony will be a great asset to the Town Council. He has a wealth of Council experience and knows how local government works. I look forward to working with him as he joins the Totnes Liberal Democrat team and I know the people of Bridgetown will benefit from Tony's enthusiasm and hard work'
