Kingsbridge Community College congratulated on outstanding OFSTED report.

19 Apr 2004

The official report on Kingsbridge Community College following their recent OFSTED inspection was released today. The College was judged to be an excellent school which, in OFSTED speak is the highest accolade that can be given. Indeed this is the first time that the inspector has given that rating in over 200 inspections and puts the College in the top 200 secondary schools nation wide. Speaking after the report was issued Totnes Parliamentary Spokesperson, Mike Treleaven said:

' I am absolutely delighted with the outcome of this inspection and would like to congratulate all the staff, students and governors on such a magnificent achievement. Having been involved with the College for over 15 years as a parent, governor and Chairman of Governors I know at first hand how hard everyone has worked to achieve these high standards. It comes as no surprise to me that the inspectors rated the College so highly and gave it recognition it deserves.'

He continued:

'We are extremely lucky in Kingsbridge to have such an outstanding College and it is a tribute to the staff and students alike that young people in this area attend one of the best schools in the country. I know the College will not rest on its laurels and I look forward to the next phase of its development'
