Get your teeth into Kingsbridge Show!
Saving our National Health Dental service will be the main theme at the Totnes Liberal Democrat stand at Kingsbridge show this year.( Burrough Farm, Kingsbridge Sat. September 4th.) Parliamentary Spokesperson, Mike Treleaven, will be there to encourage people to sign a petition calling on the Government to sort out the appalling lack of National Health dentists in South Devon.
Among other attractions will be a free entry prize draw with all visitors to the stand being given a numbered balloon with winning numbers being drawn hourly throughout the day.
Speaking about the show Mike Treleaven said:
'Kingsbridge Show is always a great day out and a tribute to the local farming community, many of whom have been hard hit this summer with the terrible weather affecting the harvest. I hope as many people as possible will come and enjoy the show and while they are there take the opportunity to visit our stand. '
He continued:
' We shall be asking people to sign our petition highlighting the disastrous situation that surrounds National Health Dentistry. It is impossible to find a NHS dentist anywhere in South Devon and I believe the nearest one with vacancies is in Barnstaple!! Despite Government promises we have a situation that is going from bad to worse with countless people unable to afford private dentistry and having to suffer as a result. We call this a civilised society, but here we are in the 21st century unable to offer many people proper care of their teeth!'
