Ed is well known as the composer of several TV signature tunes including the National Lottery, One Foot in the Grave and Countdown. He has written the scores for films such as 'Snow Goose' and 'The 39 Steps', conducted orchestras, worked extensively with Spike Milligan and is currently working on the music for the next 'Thomas the Tank Engine' series.
Commenting on his musical tribute Mike said:
'It is not everyday that someone writes a piece of music especially for you and Ed has done a brilliant job - we are considering issuing it to all deliverers to play in their Walkmans as they deliver. I'm sure it will inspire them to get round twice as fast! I am extremely grateful to Ed, who is such a nice man and found time in a very busy schedule to 'tune me in'
