DON'T MISS OUT ON EURO VOTE

Totnes Constituents have until June 2nd to request a postal vote in the European Parliament elections to be held on Thursday June 10th. The election will be for seven Members of the European Parliament to represent the South West Region. People can arrange to vote by post by completing an application form, available from their local Council offices. For Torbay residents the number is 01803 201201, for South Hams residents 01803 861234 and for Teignbridge residents 01626 361101 In each case just ask for the election office. The deadline for new applications is 5pm on Wednesday 2nd June 2004.

Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Spokesman for Totnes Constituency, Mike Treleaven, commented: "Whatever you may think about Britain's place in the European Union, we should all make the effort to vote on June 10th. "Euro MPs vote on important legislation affecting local people and are our local voice in Europe. Under new rules operating now anyone can apply for a postal vote to make voting easier. However, people only have just under a month to get their applications in."
