We won!! In the early hours of the 2nd August, the Lib Dems won the Brecon & Radnorshire by-election with a majority of over 1,400 votes. The election of Jane Dodds cuts the Government's overall majority to one and brings closer the the prospect of a Government defeat on its catastrophic Brexit policy, and either a People's Vote or a general election - or both.

But we can't afford to relax yet.

We have two more huge by-elections taking place - and the Liberal Democrats are determined to keep winning.

Sheffield Hallam

On Saturday, Jane Dodds will open the official by-election headquarters in Sheffield Hallam, and begin the action weekend.

There will be canvassing, delivering and clerical work to do from the new office all through the weekend.

The current MP announced that he will be standing down when Parliament returns in September, and the team reacted incredibly quickly - kicking off their campaign just two days after polling day in Brecon.

Like Brecon and Radnorshire, Sheffield Hallam was recently a Liberal Democrat seat - and it is a top target seat for us to win.

The fantastic Laura Gordon is our candidate.

The election office will be open every day from 10am-7pm - and and for anyone that wants to help, there will be canvassing, delivery and clerical work to do every day.

Shetland

There is also a by-election taking place for a seat in the Scottish Parliament.

Liberal Democrat Tavish Scott, has stood down as an MSP - and we want to get the fantastic Beatrice Wishart elected in his place.

The constituency isn't easy to get to, so Scottish members have been making calls and helping with clerical work to support the team who are out on the doors. Donations towards the campaign will be greatly appreciated.
