They say that in politics, a week is a long time!!

Well, the Liberal Democrats have certainly been busy in the South Hams over the past week. The weekend of the 23rd and 24th February saw us take part in the Lib Dems national Weekend of Action. This was the kick start of our campaign to take more seats on the District Council in the election on the 2nd May.

Action Weekend Harberton

The sun shone down as leafleting and canvassing was carried out across most of the South Hams. This included the wards of Kingsbridge, Blackawton and Stoke Fleming, West Dart, Charterlands, Totnes and South Brent. Literally thousands of leaflets were delivered by candidates and their supporters, with 1600 being delivered on Saturday in Kingsbridge alone. A further 500 were delivered in South Brent over the weekend. As you can see from the photograph, some of our younger supporters couldn't keep up with the pace!

The canvassing was very positively received. The overwhelming message coming back from the doorsteps of the South Hams is that people are bemused by what is happening in politics at the present time. It's definitely time for a change!

Momentum is building, with leafleting and canvassing continuing over the past week. But this is just the start! We have new candidates joining us all the time, all of whom need your support and your help to get their message out there to the voters. As Lib Dem's we always need to work extra hard to get our message across and convince the voters to support us. So come and join us and let's demand better for the South Hams this May!!
